Future small settlement Pernegg

The exploratory project uses the small housing estate in Pernegg an der Mur as an example of the concrete redevelopment task to determine the extent to which the development of prefabricated wooden building modules can be suitable for achieving communal added value and climate effectiveness beyond the level of conventional redevelopment while retaining the character of the existing building.

Plus, additional attractive housing should be created through densification while enhancing the quality of open space. The construction measures should be able to proceed without major impairment of the residential function. Furthermore, measures and incentives are to be set to initiate the energy and mobility turnaround and the necessity for climate change adaptation is to be anchored in the awareness of the population. The renovation methods and construction modules are to be developed in a subsequent R&D pilot project into a marketable construction system that can be transferred to similar residential buildings.
