The project "ZELLE | ParZELLE: The [in]visible manifestations of the fence" is part of "The European Summit of Industrial Biotechnology" -esib- 2022!

The fact that all our actions materialize in space represents great potential for solving current challenges in the long term, through correct spatial embedding and scaling. Consideration of this spatial aspect or context generates added value such as identity, resilience, carbon dioxide reduction (CO2) and so on ... in and of Enviroment. In the same way, these topics such as identity, resilience, carbon dioxide reduction (CO2) also affect the cell and its context.

So we asked ourselves when starting this project:

  • What becomes visible when you analytically compare the smallest unit of all organisms [ the cell ] with the smallest structural element of the city [ the parcel ]?

  • Which functional or systematic relationships can be found?

  • What does this mean for research?

  • What do a fence and cell membrane have in common?

In order to find the answers to these questions are required, an interdisciplinary approach and a basic understanding of the connections between research, theory and practice in spatial planning and biotechnological processes.

Within the framework of this project, a film was produced which will be also shown at the presentation.
